Paint & Paper Library shades feature in Rockford Farm Holiday Cottage – a beautifully restored, Grade II-listed farmhouse, situated in the Hampshire countryside.

Bordering the New Forest National Park, this 250-year-old cottage provides a tranquil sanctuary, using a palette of soothing, natural hues to establish connection with the surrounding woodland and wild country gardens.

Dating from around 1768, Rockford Farm was originally a working farm, with redevelopments to the house taking place in the Georgian period and late nineteenth century. Following a large restoration project, the interiors of the farmhouse have now been transformed to create a refreshing blend of country charm and contemporary living.

The farmhouse comprises natural materials and finishes throughout, which lend an authentic quality. Traditional limework, exposed brick walls and stone floors provide a timeless canvas upon which Paint & Paper Library shades are judiciously introduced, adding depth and character.

Windows: Leather II

The soothing neutrals from the Leather Architectural Colours feature on walls and window frames. With a hint of red, these shades partner harmoniously with the red brickwork. In the dining room, the lightest shade – Leather I – is the perfect accompaniment to warm wood furniture and floral, patterned fabrics.

Whilst the interiors are mostly neutral and understated, in-keeping with a more traditional style, bolder hues have been incorporated to add design interest. In a spacious twin bedroom, the mid-tone green, The Botanist, adds impact on the ceiling. Its inviting, warm green hue sits comfortably in this light-filled interior, elegantly framing views of the verdant countryside.

In the living room, the sumptuous brownish red, Masai, brings richness and depth of colour, coordinating beautifully with the exposed brickwork on the fireplace. This archive shade has an inherent earthiness, meaning it is well-suited to a traditional, period setting, where it delivers an element of intimacy, warmth and comfort.
