Create spaces that offer impact with striking purple

Purple Azurite

Often associated with interior designs of the late 20th century, purple shades are increasingly popular in contemporary design schemes. Rich aubergine-hued browns and warm lilac greys may feel more usable. But the deep and luxuriant, vibrant purple tones of Purple Azurite will create a strong design statement.

This surprising vivid purple is a true departure from the existing Paint & Paper Library palette. However, it is no less capable of delivering the signature look.

Using Purple Azurite

For a true sense of calm, embrace Purple Azurite on all four walls of a bedroom scheme to immerse the room in a moody yet majestic ambience.

A dark navy like Plimsoll used on the upper walls, ceiling and woodwork will create a cocooning effect. Combine with dark grey bed linens to ground the scheme. This combination helps to achieve the soothing, restful atmosphere that is desirable within a bedroom space.

Cobalto

This striking magenta is another shade that sits noticeably apart from the Paint & Paper Library colour card. Inspired by the colour of rare specimens of calcite, Cobalto recalls an entirely different aspect of the purple colour spectrum.

In a contemporary scheme, this extraordinary natural colour can be effective as a colour highlight alongside earthy charcoal hues.

Using Cobalto

For a scheme where Cobalto is the main feature, incorporate a palette of softer complementary pinks on the other surfaces. Aim for a cohesive, balanced interior overall.

With their distinct lilac undertones, the Plaster Architectural Colours pair well with Cobalto. The earthy peach-pink hues of Roben’s Honour are another excellent addition. For a grounding effect, the warm black, Kohl, provides sufficient impact to balance the sweetness of this scheme.

Bring all-over warmth to a scheme with delicate pink

Rose Cluster

A colour with timeless beauty, pinks have seen increased favour in the interior design of recent years. Muted, earthy pinks and romantic dusky tones offer unrivalled warmth and comfort when embraced all-over. However, the ‘Jewels’ palette presents a pink shade with a distinctly fresher and cleaner feel.

Rose Cluster is a delicate floral pink that is an excellent candidate for 2025 interior designs. This shade originates from a truly unique, coral-like cobalt-ion calcite cluster, formed on a platform of baryte. It is a wonderful, versatile pink to coordinate with soft greys and natural finishes.

Using Rose Cluster

With unexpected freshness, Rose Cluster is a beautiful pink to instil gentle warmth and brightness. This warm pink works especially well in cooler parts of the home, such as north-facing spaces. Rose Cluster provides a serene and uplifting backdrop to a spacious kitchen or dining room. This shade harmoniously accompanies timeless natural materials such as light wood, jute and rattan finishes.

For a complementary neutral, consider using the Slate Architectural Colours on woodwork. Rose Cluster can also pair with coordinating pink-based neutrals from the Powder Architectural Colours. These combinations can create more of an all-over, tonal look.

Showcase your interior with jewel-toned green

Malachite

Green has enduring appeal, sitting comfortably in both classic and contemporary interiors because of its versatile, broad spectrum. Transitioning from the muted sage greens and moody forest hues seen previously, consider majestic jewel tones for your 2025 projects.

Malachite is a particularly sumptuous green, with a colour that takes inspiration from velvet malachite. Its vivid and vibrant hue is truly captivating. Combined with the chalky softness of our Pure Flat Emulsion paint finish, Malachite delivers unparalleled depth and richness.

Using Malachite

Malachite may be used as an accent to enhance a softer green or neutral scheme. But this shade is undeniably most alluring when embraced on all four walls of a space. Colour drenching with Malachite provides a confident and impactful backdrop for your chosen living room artwork, furnishings and accessories.

A darker-toned green such as Nori works superbly in conjunction with Malachite to punctuate and showcase this colour. Introduce Nori on the window frames, shutters and skirting boards for a considered, coordinated finish.

Midelt Sage

An elegant pistachio green, Midelt Sage is a colour that retains all the distinction of its source. A beautiful colour to use in your 2025 projects, this shade is inspired by forest epidote specimens from Midelt in central Morocco. Midelt Sage has warm yellow undertones that recall a touch of earthiness. These notes provide beautiful balance alongside the vibrancy of its jewel tone.

In a unique combination, Midelt Sage unifies the familiarity and reassurance of the natural world with a luxurious, majestic quality. This shade sits comfortably in both grand living spaces and hardworking, practical areas of the home.

Midelt Sage is a great paint colour to add instant beauty and character to almost any interior setting. For real impact, envelop every aspect of the space – walls, ceilings and woodwork – in Midelt Sage to create cocooning warmth.

Midelt Sage is a fantastic accompaniment to bare wood finishes and stone floors as well as textured fabrics. All of these elements bring a homely, comforting feel to bedrooms and living spaces.
